Calling all Year 9 Students
Starting high school can be a challenge. There are many new systems, places and expectations to learn. This can be intimidating and can be a cause for anxiety for children starting at high school.
In order to prepare our Year 8s for their transition to high school we thought we would give them the opportunity to have some of their questions answered. For example…
What are the subjects like?
How do we enrol in sports?
What happens if we have the wrong uniform?
Where do I catch the bus?
So we are inviting the Year 9 students to come to school and have a meeting of the minds with the current senior students. This will be followed by a lovely shared lunch.
When: Monday 19th August
Time: 12 noon
Who: Current Year 9 students and Kahikatea
Where: Kahikatea
What: Current Kahikateans will bring a plate for a shared lunch and a thankyou for the Year 9 wisdom.
Parents are very welcome to attend.
