Luke helps Anna cut the ribbon for the grand opening of our new library space - Te Ao.

We began the week with a celebration to open our new library space.
We designed a new space to enable our students and school community to enjoy a good book in a relaxing environment.
Children's design ideas featured bookshelves you could sit in, a tree through the roof and various furniture pieces to help them lounge with their story.

Monday morning we welcomed six dancers from Kahurangi Maori Dance Company to Little River to present a workshop to our Kapahaka group and perform their Matariki Show to an audience of Play Centre, Duvauchelle, and Little River Schools.

Our Kapahaka group learnt about poi, haka movements and enjoyed some fun new games. The senior group performed their favourite haka 'Maraka', a special haka for Otautahi and something new for the North Island based dance teachers.

The show featured some amazing waiata, haka, games and story telling about what traditionally occurs during Matariki and the story of the seven fish (Ika).

Thank you to our Support Group for covering the cost of this valuable cultural event and the opportunity for our Kapahaka group to spend time with professional performers.

Liam and Tia came second in the anual Lincoln Rotary Quiz.
